A motorocylcist (initially identified as San Pablo resident Robert Adams, 27 yeas old) was killed when his bike struck a minivan early on the morning of September 24, 2010 at the intersection of Leet and Hegenberger near the airport in Oakland. According to reports, the driver of the motorcycle was heading southbound on Hegenberger, trying to make a right onto Leet; the driver of the minivan was headed north on Hegenberger trying to make a left onto Leet. According to reports, the minivan was owned by Sky Chefs (which provides food for on-flight service).

This motorcycle accident was followed by another accident involving a motorcycle and a van. Last week in Fremont, a Fremont Police Officer on a motorcycle was intentionally run over by a man who had just stolen a van. The officer is in serious condition.
