Drunk Driving Fatalities in Oakland

I recenlty wrote about the availability of punitive damages against drunk drivers The bad news is that people are still killed on a regular basis in Oakland by drunk drivers (34 fatalities in Alameda County in 2008, 24 in 2009 and 24 in 2010) but the number is going down.
We have seen a recent spate of pedestrians being struck in Oakland and around the bay area, which sometimes happens during the holidays: lots of people tired and distracted, drunk, talking on the phone, etc. Of course, these car accidents can all lead to serious or catastrophic injuries
