Pedestrian Killed by Driver in Fremont

One death has been confirmed in an early morning pedestrian accident on Fremont Boulevard. SFGate reports that the collision occurred at approximately 6:40 am on November 25 and involved the driver of a Lexus and a not-yet-identified male victim.

According to the police, the accident happened between Ice House Terrace and Old Warm Springs Boulevard. Apparently, the incident was initially treated as a hit-and-run accident, but the driver is said to have returned to the scene is now cooperating with law enforcement.

The police also believe that other drivers witnessed the accident as it occurred. They're asking any eyewitnesses to now come forward to help them determine the circumstances of the incident.

Especially Dangerous Road Accidents

All collisions on the road are dangerous, but few types prove to be as devastating and deadly as pedestrian accidents. Unlike car crashes—or even accidents involving motorcyclists or bicyclists—these injury victims benefit from zero safety devices and are directly exposed to tremendous impacts. Catastrophic injuries and even death are unfortunately often a reality for these victims.

Are these accidents always the drivers' fault? No, but they often are. Everything from speeding to drunk driving and texting-while-driving can contribute to these accidents and when they do, legal action is called for in order to give the victim and their loved ones the relief they deserve.
