Stolen Car Strikes Pedestrian

A man who stole a car and then fled from Oakland Police crashed his car and injured a pedestrian on December 10. The pedestrian was struck near hte 4200 block of Bond Street. The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to the hospital.

The pedestrian likely has no recourse against the driver (who most likely does not have insurance) unless he or she has uninsured motorist coverage. Uninsured motorist coverage applies even when one is not in their car - as in this case.
